2-Level Data Slicer & 4 Level Data Slicer
« on: 29 Jun 2017, 00:27:53 »
I am currently running a 2-level data slicer with PDW which works great, but when it decodes at the top of PDW it has "Flex 4 Level 3200 (Phase AB). I am just curious why it doesn't have "2-level". I would also like to purchase the USB compatible data slicer that will decode 3200 Flex and I am unsure what I should order from discriminator.nl. I previously posted about building a 4-level on a breadboard, but I decided that it was a little over my head at least until I have a lot of time to put into it. Thanks --Gary

The USB interface only supports FLEX 1600, not 3200.

Please be advised that I recently lowered the price for a ready-made 4-level interface. Further to that, a bare circuit board is available for DIY.

Thanks for the reply Rene. I have purchased a new PC with windows 10 Pro (64bit) and I am going to add two serial ports to it. Will the 4-level interface work with that setup? Thanks again.--Gary

Unfortunately, the slicer driver provided in the PDW zip file only supports operating systems up to Windows 7 (32 bit). For the 4 level interface, I still use a vintage Windows 98 laptop  ;)

Rene,
I would like to purchase the 4-level interface, the usb interface, the RS-232 interface and the 4-level interface circuit board. This will give me something to play around with during my retirement. Is it possible to save me some money on shipping if I order this all at once or should I just order them individually? Thanks again.--Gary

This really doesn't have anything to do with Slicers, but I have been playing around with Windows 10, an using only the sound card and PDW I am able to decode Flex C 6400 bit with very accurate results using a discriminator output to the line in. This probably isn't new news to anyone else, but it was to me. When I run PDW I have to ignore installing xp driver.--Gary
