Software to decode paging signals
This page contains the software I use to monitor paging systems. There is more software available on the internet. My experience is that
this selection is rather easy to configure, and usually works the first time.|
PDW can also be run under Windows XP or Windows 2000 in combination with a Hamcomm- or a 4-level interface. To make this work,
you have to install a serial port driver. Running install.exe will install slicer.sys. Both files can be found in xp_driver.zip. After installation, reboot your computer. This driver
can not be used with Windows NT.
Sometimes PDW doesn't work under Win9X. This may have to do with the serial port power management. The remedy is:
With this sequence, 'COM port power management' has been disabled.
- Select the "START" menu, click "Run"
- Enter "REGEDIT.EXE" and click "OK"
- Search for the next registry key: "Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VCOMM"
- Change the value of "EnablePowerManagement" from "01 00 00 00" in "00 00 00 00"
- Leave the program and restart the PC
POCFLEX en ERMON won't work in a DOS window under Win9X. Leave Windows using the Start menu and exit to MS-DOS. Alternatively, you might want to consider an MS-DOS
When you download and run 'startup.exe', it will create a startup diskette. Booting from this disk, PocFlex is started automatically. If needed, modify the COM-port in POCFLEX.INI. Default is COM1.
A bootable CD-ROM with Pocflex is available as well. Use a program like Nero to burn this file as 'disk image'. Merely copying this file
to CD-ROM will not work.
