Filter only log file

In the Filter options there is a box to check that has "Show filtered messages only in filter window/log files", but when I check the log file it still logs all the pages that are received. Is there a way to only have a log file with filtered messages?

Did you check the Manual? Page 25.

Yes, I did read that page and it doesn't matter whether I check the box or not, I still get all messages that PDW receives in the log file and I only want the log file to contain the filtered messages. I am sure I am missing something stupid. I even delete the latest log file and when it creates a new one it always has all pages that are received in it.
