I have two 4-Level Data Slicers that I think are not working, At least I cannot get them to work anymore. What would it cost to send them in to get repaired or would I be better of just waiting for the next supply of Slicers that will be coming out in February? I would really like to get them repaired just to have as backups. Thanks for a great product. Is it possible that I may have damaged one of them by picking it up while it was running since it did not have a plastic case around it. If I order new ones, can they have plastic cases with them?

This really doesn't have anything to do with Slicers, but I have been playing around with Windows 10, an using only the sound card and PDW I am able to decode Flex C 6400 bit with very accurate results using a discriminator output to the line in. This probably isn't new news to anyone else, but it was to me. When I run PDW I have to ignore installing xp driver.--Gary

Thanks Rene, I will pay when I get it.

I would like to purchase the 4-level interface, the usb interface, the RS-232 interface and the 4-level interface circuit board. This will give me something to play around with during my retirement. Is it possible to save me some money on shipping if I order this all at once or should I just order them individually? Thanks again.--Gary

Thanks for the reply Rene. I have purchased a new PC with windows 10 Pro (64bit) and I am going to add two serial ports to it. Will the 4-level interface work with that setup? Thanks again.--Gary

I am currently running a 2-level data slicer with PDW which works great, but when it decodes at the top of PDW it has "Flex 4 Level 3200 (Phase AB). I am just curious why it doesn't have "2-level". I would also like to purchase the USB compatible data slicer that will decode 3200 Flex and I am unsure what I should order from I previously posted about building a 4-level on a breadboard, but I decided that it was a little over my head at least until I have a lot of time to put into it. Thanks --Gary

Mr. Discriminator,
I have a couple follow up questions. I have soebt many hours of looking for equivalent parts here in the United States to construct the 4-level data slicer on a breadboard. I think I have found all the parts except 1 (STMicroelectronics BAT43 Schottky Diode 30V 0.1A DO 35). The only one I can find is .2A, so the questions is will the .2A work? My other questions is there anything I could check on my existing 4-level data slice to find out why it has quit working. I have checked the power supply and it is putting out the correct voltage. Thanks--Gary

Thanks for the reply. I will start collecting the parts and give it a go.

Data Slicers and Interfaces / Building a 4-level Data Slicer
« on: 21 Sep 2016, 22:59:03 »
This may be a stupid question, but I will ask it anyway. I am a novice when it comes to building electronic circuits, but I was wondering if it is possible to build any of the Data Slicers using a Breadboard. It seems like a relatively easy project looking at the parts lists and schematics which I can read somewhat. I have lots of time on my hands so I was wanting something to do. I currently own a 4 level data slicer which I think has stopped working. I also own a 2-level data slicer which works fine. It may not be possible, but there is not way for me to know without asking. Thanks in advance.--Gary

Data Slicers and Interfaces / Re: Serial Port for a laptop?

Thanks for the info, I was just looking for a way to use my existing 4 level data slicer on my laptop. I do plan on buying a RS232 and/or a USB interface in the near future.

PDW Support / Unknown Sync Header
« on: 02 Mar 2015, 11:47:31 »
PDW works for a couple minutes and then I get "unknown sync header. It has been working great for over 10 years with no problems. I am using the 4-level data slicer with PDW 3.1 installed on a pc running windows xp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.--Gary

PDW Support / PDW Filter Backup?
« on: 12 May 2014, 12:12:38 »
I had a computer crash on my old windows xp desktop and I have lost all my filters. Does PDW create a backup somewhere and if not how can I create a backup so I can restore it if needed? In the logs file I have flt files are they filter files and if so how do I restore using one of them? Thanks--Gary
