Ok with the absence of any replies I have managed to find  out what I was missing. After the first entry, before you can and a second or subsequent filter the last entry needs to be highlighted otherwise the filter will not be added. I said it could be something obvious.  At least all this hair pulling has  got around the problem of not being able to go out to a barbers.

Thanks for letting me in on the forum.

My problem, apart from getting a bit old is that I can only enter one or two lines in the add filter section. I have tried  right clicking and entering and also the add filter button below. It's a big struggle to get it to accept more than two or so, after that I type in the filter type  ( text ) I enter the details, press enter and it just disappears. maybe a schoolboy error but another pair of eyes on this would help. PDW 3.12 win 10
