Discriminator on JT1000 ... Question ??? (10Uf Tantalum)

Hello gang,

Quick question for you? because my skills in electronics is limited.

I just finished installing a discriminator on a JT1000 radio, i have a
quick question for you. ... In the process they say "... soldered a 10uF Tantalum
capacitor to remove DC component at the end of the discriminator...", is that
it takes a particular voltage or what type of capacitor / model should i
use ?

A 16 V or higher value tantalum capacitor should be OK.

Yep Rene is correct 16V tantalum should be fine and it is small enough to hide away inside the shell of whatever connector you decide to use (I use a 3.5mm female plug). You should find the JT100 to be a very nice radio to use. I have several of them and they are an extremely sensitive radio making decoding of weak signals a dream. Good Luck!
