G'Day from Queensland !!!
« on: 01 Aug 2014, 10:43:07 »
Hi everyone. My name is Owen and I own a few tow trucks. I would like to learn how to use this software to convert scanned audio from the police, fire and ambulance and convert them into text which i can use filters to identify crashes and then using email, send that information to each driver. As i have very little experience in this field i would appreciate it if some one could walk me through what to use and how to set it up. Any help would be great.

Thank
Owen

Hi Owen,
This forum and the product PDW is only about decoding pager messages. In SE Queensland, only the QAS (anbulance) despatch with commercial network pager messages (Vodafone Paging), plus QFES (fire) despatch some of their rural and auxilliary crews using Vodafone Paging (and some use a local private paging system based at their station).

With the new Queensland GWN (Government Wireless Network) rapidly being rolled out for all emergency services, I would expect that the use of pagers will significantly reduce further, as they rely more on the GWN.

Plus the GWN will replace the current Analogue radio network with a secure digital network, which means you probably won't be able to listen in on the radio channels either.

No idea how towies will get their jobs in that environment - maybe they'll go the same way as taxis and just get despatched in turn?

Not a lot of what you whated to hear I suspect - sorry!

Cheers
...Steve
