PDW on Surface 3 - stops when screen blanks

Hi, I have a strange issue with PDW on a Surface 3 - PDW stops decoding when the screen turns off as part of the power savings settings.

I have set the Surface 3 to NEVER sleep when plugged-in, just turn off the screen.

As soon as the Surface 3 display blanks, decoding stops.

I do not have this issue on a lenovo laptop

Any suggestions on how to keep encoding with screen off ?

Interesting. I have no experience with Surface so can't comment with any knowledge, but I would have to think this is a Windows issue.

Do all other apps 'stop' when the display goes off? Maybe Surface shuts down the USB port when the display is off (no idea why - just putting it out there whether Surface and/or Windows could do anything that may stop the chain of things that PDW needs

Be interested to know the eventual cause and fix.

my first thaught is that the input shuts down with the screen...
Maybe you shold test that before going further?
