PDW after Discriminator do not work
« on: 27 Apr 2018, 17:51:03 »
Hello, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

I have a UBC760XLT that I connected to the computer and pdw, I received a lot of message, however, only with junk. Therefore, I did a Discriminator Tap on my scanner, but now I do not get any message at all on it. The pointer, RX-Q on the upper right indicates nothing at all on POCSAG, but the meter shows allmost full on MOBITEX and a little on ACARS.

I have tried a lot of different settings, such as the computer's internal sound card, exclusive USB sound card, change the volumes, mono 3.5mm connector, stereo 3.5mm connector.

Anyone who has an idea of what might be the error or what i have done wrong?

Hi SwedenSouth
Welcome to the PDW World and this Forum:-)

If the pointer on the meter isn't bouncing then PDW isn't getting any data from the driver.  Please can you provide more details of your setup (OS and version, PDW version, driver/slicer setups/versions (if applicable), type of signals you are attempting to decode etc). Are you sure what you are monitoring is a plain language unencrypted message?

If you can post your config file, or screenshots of your configuration that would also be helpful. Maybe screenshots or examples of the 'junk' messages and what you expected to be in the message.

Whilst the sound card path will usually work, it is often finicky and has a tendency to drift. If you want most reliable decodes, one of Rene's USB interfaces is a wise investment.

Cheers
...Steve

Hello Steve

Thanks for prompt reply, you gave me an idea when you wrote that PDW is not receiving any data. I'll check the cable from scanner, try changing the 3.5mm connector. Have read on forum that part says that you have a mono contact while others say you should have a stereo contact. I'll try this one of the next few days and return with the result before proceeding with the config file.

Once again thank you for your help so far
